Friday Finds: Spray Paint DIY

Hello all!

As I had mentioned last week, I'm currently in the process of redecorating/revamping my bedroom. Like with all projects, sticking to your budget can be a difficult task. In order to stay within my budget but still get creative, I've resorted to the wonderful Pinterest community for diy ideas. With a little searching I've discovered how much a little can of spray paint can do for your old items!

Here's a few wonderful tutorials:

1. Orange Milking Stool

3. Neon Pink Pots (unfortunately this was an image without a DIY, but I believe some painters tape and spray paint is all you need!)

Fall brings about a bit of a nesting vibe. The weather turns, it gets darker sooner, closets switch over and people want to eat a bit more heartily. Living true to this; we were searching around Pinterest for some deliciousness to try our hand at and stumbled upon this amazing new recipe collective called TASTESPOTTING. 

In short, it's a foodie's paradise. As always, the creators state it best with, "Think of TasteSpotting as a highly visual potluck of recipes, references, experiences, stories, articles, products, and anything else that inspires exquisite taste." 

We're in.

Inspiration Board: Rock and Roll

True fashionistas defy labels. Our style changes depending on our mood, the weather, what we read in the magazine or other forms of inspiration. Why must you feel the need to slap a label on us? Throw us in some claustrophobic category? A true fashionistas style oscillates. Duh.

Since we're feeling a little rebellious, a lot more rock and roll today, we channeled all that angst into a post. We're really feeling this new line of graphic tees from Corner Shop which can be found online at Urban Outfitters.

Get Prepped: Fourth of July Inspiration Board

One of our favorite holidays in the world is the Fourth of July, and not just because it gives us another excuse to bedazzle our nails, down a beer and wear polka dot minis. Independence Day brings families and friends together to celebrate the stars and stripes, and that is something for which we're truly grateful for. Be festive tomorrow and show off all that red, white and blue in style, comfort and class. To help get you into the spirit, we put together an inspiration board to keep you en vogue for the holiday. xx

Beauty 101: Nail Polish

Before we proceed with this post, we have a few questions to pose at our nail polish lovers. These questions will determine whether or not you're a true nail polish devotee. 

1) Do you paint your nails religiously every Sunday? 

2) Are you bothered by the sight of chipped nail polish? If yes, do you find yourself premptively apologizing once the sheen of new nail polish has come off? 

3) On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being "I could care less" and 10 being "I'm obsessed", how deep is your love for nail polish? Are manicures a necessity, like gas and phone expenses, or a luxury done only for weddings and special events?

4) I have trouble throwing away old deteriorated bottles of nail  polish e.g. resembles old glue. True or False

If the overwhelming majority of you answered Yes and True to the above survey, not only are you probably OCD but you have a serious nail obsession. You are amongst friends now. To help ease you into the process, we'll go first: Our name is Seychelles Footwear and we're nail-a-holics. Because we shiver at the thought of breaking the habit cold turkey,  here are some of our favorite nail art trends this season.

DIY - orb chandelier

We're in a major DIY mood lately and found this amazing orb chandelier on Pinterest and discovered it was made by Orlando Dumond Soria and used in a style out with our friend Emily Henderson from Secrets from a Stylist. (makes it even better!)

We're a wee bit obsessed with our new PANSY bow flats and couldn't resist the urge to style them out with items we already had pinned onto our Seychelles Style board on Pinterest.

Working for Seychelles has many perks and besides the obvious (hello shoe addiction) we love watching as ideas and designs actually become a reality.
