"We wanted our wedding to be really personal, so my focus was less on creating a traditional wedding and more of planning a really great, intimate dinner party. It was Gatsby-esque in the sense that we had it black tie but held it in my parent’s backyard and a farmhouse/garden tent. There was something appealing about being all dressed up and standing in the grass.
My inspiration was vintage/bespoke. We didn’t really have colors but if I had to choose they were gray and cream. I filled the party with items we have in our house like an old gramophone, vintage frames, a chandelier, a mirror, birdcages and a vintage desk for our sign-in book. We had a projector playing Somewhere in Time, Great Gatsby and Say Anything on the outdoor bar tent wall and our flowers were placed in mismatched ball jars, green depression glass and white hobnail vases and served as the centerpieces. We had our cake on an antique sideboard and our entire wedding party ate off of mismatched vintage china I had collected from Etsy. We gave away vintage seed packets filled with geraniums, dahlias and amaryllis and had the entire playlist from start to finish (our DJ hated us) picked out with only music that has meaning to us as a couple.
Totally wore my Sophia wedges to a wedding this weekend. They were ideal!
